Gene editing: How to make new babies?

Hello everybody!

Finally a day in which I woke up at 6am as I didn’t have any MBA assignmets this morning! Yeeaaaah…. ๐Ÿ™‚

Whilst having breakfast- green smoothie bowl in the picture – I was digging through the news in The Economist and the article on reproductive technologies caught my attention as ร have always been interested in gene editing.

When boy meets girl is no longer a requirement for reproduction as eggs and sperm are made from parent’s body cells like skin cells (for example). New procedures give gay couples the possibility of having kids who relate to both parents, but also to perform mitochondrial transplants to avoid rare diseases and allow gene editing.

As cloning techniques evolve, how are we going to set boundaries for science evolution? Which ethical implications will healthcare professionals face? and more importantly, where are we going to fit a possible increase in population as longevity will continue to grow?

Luckily NASA announced yesterday that 7 planets similar to Earth were discovered… With North Korea keeping up with their missile programme, sooner than we imagine we might be going to Space! ๐Ÿ˜‰

With an increasing demand for populistic measures which leave us withou the possibility to predict behaviors and political decision making that used to be based on ethical assessments and facts,ย ย every day is a new flavor.

Never life had been so similar to a box of chocolates ๐Ÿ˜‰ Unfortunately some seem to be due date and might be an hazard to our health.

Stay beautiful,
